Gator Bites officially debuts on GatorAIDS today! (Our “spooky house” episode was a teaser.) CFMM is late to present a Valentine’s Day special but that’s only because conversation hearts do not go on sale until the 15th. Tardiness is required, and in this episode CFMM samples 9 varieties of heart candies from five different companies and reports back with the results (spoiler alert: they’re bad).
This is our debut episode so it’s a little longer than we’d have liked to make it; it’s 38 minutes long. Future episodes will be less than half of that.
CFMM takes you inside the house where GatorAIDS’ new series Gator Bites is being filmed and provides a simple tour of the property, pointing out the various nuances of 1950′s decor and design while toying with the analog timer clock on the house’s oven. The majority of the show will be shot in the “taping room” mentioned in the tour, the rest of the house will go largely unused with the exception of one-off cutaways and brief intermissions.
This isn’t the actual structure of Gator Bites nor will it be a sketch comedy or Ghost Hunters parody of any sort. It’s more of a sit-down comedy with crappy toys and bad candy.
We close out our 2010 season of GMO2 with a Christmas special. Every show out there has a sentimental message about the holiday season, and ours is no different. GMO2‘s special tells the timeless tale of generosity, zombies, and time travel. Right up there in the annals of Red Ryder BB guns and shitty faux claymation snowmen we have a Christmas story sure to become a steadfast inclusion in the collective mentality of our culture.
Or, you know, it’ll just be a one-off special that is promptly forgotten about on December 26th.
This isn’t an episode of GMO2 per say, this is more or less a formatting test for the new look of the show that we hope to use in our 2011 season. Rather than re-hash some old footage for the test we decided to shoot some new stuff just as a small bonus to work with. The game showcased is the Xbox Live Arcade version of the NES title Track & Field, a terrible piece of crap made for the equally as hate crime-ish Power Pad.
As you can see, we want to incorporate the same classic feel of GMO2‘s original image but give the “pop up” text and images an actual place to appear. With the “empty space” we now have we’d like to use it for introductory credits as well as trivia and observations about the game and its accompanying commentary (e.g. showing you what the actual world record for the long jump is when we make a joke about it). We’re also simplifying the “player arrows” from bulky animations (which were hard to use when there were multiple players on-screen) to simple smaller colored arrows with the player names at the bottom.
Stay tuned for the second season of GMO2 in 2011!!
Countless speedruns and analyses of this game exist online and do so under the game’s various titles. Some know it as Cat Mario, others as Dongs.exe. It’s original name, however, is Syobon Action: a homebrew PC title that has seen fan-made ports on a number of platforms. Today’s episode takes a look at a faithful port of Syobon Action for the Wii and gives it that unique GMO2 flair, and by that we mean tons of frustration about this purpose-built aneurysm factory.
This week’s episode of GMO2 pits the cast against their first piece of shovelware for the Nintendo Wii: Glacier2. We figured fifteen episodes without a single Wii game was proof enough that we can make more than a dozen episodes without resorting to a default standby. Of all the terrible Wii games out there we settled on Glacier2 solely because of the fact that its implied predecessor, Glacier, doesn’t exist.
We looked.

[UPDATE: Apparently Glacier does exist. It was a shovelware PC game.]
This week the cast enjoys some nostalgic fun with some quick rounds of Twisted Metal III. Depending on who you’re talking to this is either a great game or a terrible game, and many Twisted Metal diehards fervently declare that the 989 Studios games are “non-canon” in the Twisted Metal world. Non-canon? I didn’t realize there was such a thing as canonization in this game. It’s a freakin’ demo derby on steroids! Get over it.
After weeks and weeks of problems, setbacks, and missed deadlines we’re finally pleased to present to you our highly anticipated LSD episode. No, we don’t actually take LSD, but me might as well have done so because this game is a trip. It’s the appropriately titled Japanese-only PS1 game from developer Asmik Ace Entertainment. Touted as a “Dream Emulator” this game lets you “have a dream” wherein you interact with environments and objects to alter and change the course of your experience. That’s it.
It sounds simplistic, and it is, but holy hell do Japanese people have weird dreams.
This week we have a special treat for GMO2 fans: our very first PRERELEASE episode! We obtained our copy of Monster Jam: Path of Destruction four days early (legitimately, mind you) and set forth to create a “special edition” of the show to celebrate. Originally we had no intentions to shoot this episode, but since the light shined in our favor we decided not to pass the opportunity.
Ironically, this is also our most offensive episode of GMO2 to date. About three minutes into the episode we make a remark in regards to a certain accident at a Monster Jam show in Tacoma, Washington. Monster Jam fans lost their shit over it… but as it turns out they’re all Canadian. What the hell?
We’re proud to present to you the GMO2 Halloween special: You Shouldn’t Have Done That!
This episode was created and based around the popular creepypasta story Haunted Majora’s Mask Cartridge with the support and permission of the author of the original story itself. No crappy “me too” knock off here! This is a different kind of GMO2 episode in that it doesn’t have traditional credits and we aren’t actually playing anything, we merely give the illusion that we are and used the original creepypasta videos from the story.
We’ve based the loose “plot” of the episode off of the original story and made great efforts to maintain the integrity of Jadusable’s original creation while giving it a little bit of GMO2 humor. We hope you enjoy our Halloween special!
